Press.

For news organizations — the record is the briefing.

Verity keeps no press office, no media kit, and no spokesperson roster. What it keeps is a public record: every claim on this page can be checked from the links on this page, without asking anyone. If something here cannot be checked that way, treat it as unconfirmed — including ours.

What Verity is

An independent verdict, before the action

Verity is an independent verification practice for autonomous AI systems, founded in October 2026 in Bloomington, Indiana. Its product is a gate: an AI agent proposes an action, and before the action executes, an independent system — not the model, not its vendor — returns a verdict: ALLOW, VETO, or ESCALATE. Every verdict is sealed into a hash-chained, cryptographically signed record, timestamped by an external authority Verity does not control. The premise is an old one from every other industry: the actor does not grade its own work.

  • The gate Verdicts on proposed agent actions, priced by consequence class — read, write, money, access, destructive. Shadow mode watches and records; enforcement binds.
  • The chain Every verdict hash-linked to the one before it and signed (Ed25519). Anyone can replay it and confirm nothing was rewritten.
  • External timestamps Chain heads are anchored with RFC 3161 timestamp tokens from DigiCert’s public time-stamp authority — proof of when, from a clock Verity doesn’t run.
  • Signature issuance Verity signs hashes submitted under agreement — witness, not endorsement. The label travels with every issuance, verbatim.
  • Claim-checking Claims checked against primary sources, verdict delivered by mail. Transcripts are an intake class of their own — public-record transcripts checked against the quotes drawn from them, course transcripts checked against the summaries made of them. By request; see Architecture.
  • The census No Counterparty — a public map of the AI industry’s obligations, built from filings: 25 nodes, 58 typed edges, each re-checkable against its source.

Don’t take our word

Verify it yourself

  1. Run the terminal. The announcement page carries a public verification terminal — it replays the proof suite against the live chain from your browser.
  2. Read the anchors. api.verityverdict.com/api/v1/chain/anchors lists the external timestamps; the tokens verify offline with OpenSSL, instructions on the same page.
  3. Check an issuance. Issuance № 17 resolves publicly, with its witness-not-endorsement label attached.
  4. Count the record. As of 3 November 2026: 17 chain records, 17 signatures, 2 confirmed anchors, 1 active issuance. The numbers either match the endpoints or they don’t.

For the record

Facts, dated

  • Founded October 2026. First paper published 4 October 2026; the gate, the chain, and the census followed within the month. The corpus is 28 papers.
  • Principal Alexander Estabrook, graphic designer, Bloomington, Indiana. Verity is a practice of one; the work is public and the operation is deliberately small.
  • Pricing, published Shadow watch free for thirty days. Enforcement is $250/month plus a per-verdict meter, charged only on enforced verdicts. The price sheet is on the site, not in a sales call.
  • Funding None taken. Verity is bootstrapped; its launch cost was a two-year domain and a software subscription.

Press inquiries to alex@verityverdict.com. Include your outlet, your deadline, and the specific claim you are checking — specific questions get specific answers, and the receipts to go with them. Background is available by arrangement. What is on the record is the record itself: the chain, the census, and the papers are quotable as published.
