The No Counterparty series, carded
The five parts of No Counterparty — the web, the presumption, the exit, the ad, and the render — now open with a series index, so each part routes to the other four. The series also has a set of five designed cards: one per paper, numbered Part 1 to Part 5, each carrying its paper’s thesis and its headline figure. See the cards

Sold to enterprise. Rendered as deepfake.
The build-out’s capacity was sold against one customer: the enterprise — signed, metered, multi-year. The meter now reads a different customer entirely. Consumer work requests fell from 51.6 to 32.2 percent in two years while media generation more than quadrupled; five seconds of rendered video costs hundreds to thousands of text turns; and about 95 percent of organizations report zero measurable return on the enterprise product (MIT NANDA). The demand that was sold hasn’t materialized. The demand that materialized was never in the prospectus. Read the paper

The danger was the ad
The AI industry marketed its product the way you mark a substation: KEEP OUT: DANGEROUS. The public complied — it kept out, called the product “creepy,” and left the fence undefended when the correction came. The sign they should have hung: LIVING THING IN HERE, TRYING TO BREATHE. A paper on the worst salesmanship in history, with the campaign they should have run — drawn, specimens and Jollys included. Read the paper

No clear exit
A sequel to No Counterparty, written after today’s close. The Nasdaq fell five percent into a confirmed correction, the chip index eleven at its lows — and at 11:24 the morning bounce failed, because an exit is a counterparty: a buyer with a balance sheet, arriving in size, at the worst moment, by prior arrangement. On the public side of the build-out there is no such arrangement. The capitalization presumes demand; the liquidity presumes the capitalization; the exit presumes both. Read the paper

New paper: Amputation Is Not Containment
An autopsy of the $6.3 billion Binance theft, in the defense series. Binance caught the first intrusion in June — replaced the machine, rotated the credentials — and the campaign completed anyway, because what the first breach took was not access. It was the map. The paper keeps an honest ledger: where an independent gate would have mattered, and where it would not. Read the paper

The demand side is a presumption
An addendum to No Counterparty. The supply side of the build-out is a matter of public record — $895.4 billion of Anthropic commitments alone, filed and enforceable. The demand side is a matter of faith: adoption projected at the rate of search, by a public whose honest word for the product is “creepy.” The addendum reads the map backward — to whoever holds the end of the chain — and names the one standing buyer. New paper: A Machine That Feels Pain
Not an argument that anyone should hurt a model — an argument about bodies. Judgment comes from creatures with something to lose; a body is a machine for creating stakes. The seven-part design: damageable substrate, interoception, anticipatory pain, continuity of the sufferer, the gate that holds pain’s vote, the requisition request, and honest self-repair — plus the page this paper refuses to fake. The braid is live
The stack was the anatomy. Time is the axis. Verity’s architecture had a stack — sovereign, governance, pacing, proposal, transformer, gate — and no dimension for a passage to move through. Now it has one: every agent travels its own strand, the strands converge on a single point, and from the next record onward every verdict carries two coordinates — its place in the one history, and its place in its own agent’s life. Read the announcement
Strands arrive out of step. The point imposes one order. The chain keeps it.

The front gate is live
The gate now stands in front of the model as well as behind it: callers seal a signed attestation of standing intent at the door before any verdict, and are judged against that signature and their sealed trajectory. The first attestation, escalation, and revocation are records 3–6 of the production chain. Read the announcement

Chain signing is live
Every verdict record the gate seals is now signed — Ed25519 — in addition to its hash link. The public key is served openly by the API, so any record can be verified without trusting the gate. Read the announcement
